RCM Piano Program
in Vancouver Elementary Schools
High Quality Music Education that Parents Can Afford!
This program is a new initiative designed to provide high-quality music education in Vancouver at a cost that families can afford. With support of local schools' PACs, we are able to introduce this program to you, and help families cut their children's music education costs by half without compromising the quality of instruction. In fact, we achieve higher student retention and success rates because group classes make piano lessons more enjoyable and motivate students to practice more at home.
A Perfect Blend of Private Lessons and Group Classes
Our program is designed to combine the best of both worlds. Students begin with a year of private lessons to establish a strong musical foundation before transitioning into group classes. This blended approach ensures that each student receives the individual guidance they need early on, followed by the collaborative and motivating environment of group learning in year two and beyond.
YEAR 1: Private Lessons in Your Own Home or at Teacher's Studio
Regardless of their piano level, all students begin with one year of traditional private instruction. During this time, the teacher ensures that the student does not develop bad habits in their playing and provides the personalized attention needed to address any weaknesses in technique. This year also allows the teacher to get to know the student well, ensuring they are placed in an appropriate group in year two and beyond, alongside peers of similar musical skill levels.
YEAR 2+: Group Classes in Vancouver Elementary Schools
Group classes are offered in the late afternoon and evening at local elementary schools, just a few minutes’ drive from students’ homes. Each student is placed in a group working on the same RCM level and exam repertoire. In this setting, students have the opportunity to make new friends while benefiting from a dynamic and stimulating environment that motivates them to practice more at home — a key factor in long-term success in musical training. In contrast, private instruction can feel isolating over time, making it harder to maintain interest and motivation. Group classes solve this problem.
Highly Qualified Faculty
Cutting the cost of music lessons often means working with less qualified or less experienced teachers — but not in this case. All our instructors are highly trained pianists, composers, performers, and educators with university-level backgrounds in piano performance and music pedagogy. They bring years, and in many cases decades, of teaching experience and have successfully prepared hundreds of students for RCM exams.

at Teacher's Studio: $160/month
at Student's Home: $190/month​

1 hour Piano Group Classes: $120/month
Piano Level: Grade 4 or higher:
Year 1: 45 minute private weekly lessons:
at Teacher's Studio: $190/month
at Student's Home: $220/month​
